A camp wastewater treatment system from CDPH is an integrated biological treatment unit that treats domestic sewage on site to compliant discharge standards. By combining an integrated biological process with MBR membrane filtration, the system reduces pump-out frequency and meets the environmental requirements of remote locations — an important consideration for construction camps, mining camps and project accommodation where municipal sewerage is not available. Each camp wastewater treatment system is sized for populations of 50 to 5,000 people and configured according to the camp's requirements, then priced together with the camp project as a single scope.

How the treatment process works

The system is built around an integrated biological process followed by MBR membrane separation. Biomass breaks down organic matter in the biological stage, and the membrane barrier retains solids and biomass so that the effluent can reach greywater-reuse quality. Treated water can therefore be directed to non-potable applications rather than discharged, which matters where site water supply is constrained. Because the process is integrated into a packaged unit, the footprint and installation scope are defined at the engineering stage alongside the camp layout.

Sizing and configuration

Capacity is matched to the camp population and its sanitary load. CDPH does not apply a standard minimum order quantity to camp projects; units are configured per project and quoted individually after engineering review. The engineering team replies within one business day with a concept proposal and a budget range. The table below summarises the system as supplied.

Parameter Detail
System reference SYS-04
Treatment type Integrated biological treatment with MBR membrane
Design population 50 to 5,000 people per camp
Effluent quality Compliant discharge; can reach greywater-reuse quality
Configuration Defined per camp requirements during engineering review
Commercial basis Quoted with the camp project; no standard MOQ

Where the system is deployed

CDPH reports 5,000+ projects implemented in 100+ countries, with export markets including Eastern Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and Africa. Camp wastewater treatment systems are specified as part of wider accommodation scopes. Reference projects at region level include a port expansion camp in Cote d'Ivoire, a construction camp for a methanol plant, a camp for a cross-sea bridge project in Croatia, a natural gas project camp in Nigeria, a copper mine camp built for -55 °C conditions, and a living camp for a solar power station in Saudi Arabia whose fire performance was verified by Intertek testing.

Manufacturing and compliance

Beijing Chengdong International Modular Housing Corporation (brand CDPH) was founded in 2009 and operates three production bases in Hebei, Xinjiang and Sichuan; the Hebei base is 48 km from Tianjin Port. The company employs a team of 500+ people, including 100+ engineers, supported by 13 subsidiaries and offices. Overseas projects are delivered through CDPH (HAINAN) COMPANY LIMITED, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Beijing corporation.

Category-level certifications include CE for modular container houses, prefab houses and light steel villas; ISO 14001; ISO 45001; product carbon footprint certification; National High-Tech Enterprise status; NATA materials certification for Australia; Intertek fire-resistance certification; CCS factory approval; and Intertek ICC-ES / WH building-material compliance for the US market. Fourteen key welders are qualified to AWS, CWB and CE standards. Certificates available upon request.

Specifying a system for your camp

  • Confirm camp population and phasing so treatment capacity can be staged to match occupancy.
  • State the required discharge standard or intended reuse application for the effluent.
  • Share site services and layout constraints at concept stage, as the unit is configured with the camp.
  • Request certificates relevant to your market and approval authority.
