For project buyers specifying workforce accommodation at unit level, a container dormitory offers a prefabricated, relocatable alternative to site-built facilities. CDPH manufactures container dormitory units as factory-prefabricated steel modules that are bolted together on site, and the same module system can be configured as a single-storey layout or stacked to two, three or more storeys in I, U, L or courtyard arrangements. Each unit is built from a galvanised cold-formed steel frame (SGH340, 3.0 mm), so the structural behaviour is defined before the modules leave the factory. The container dormitory format suits engineering camps, construction camps, emergency facilities and other residential requirements where the units themselves — their dimensions, transport format and reuse over several moves — are the procurement question. For dormitory accommodation planned at camp level, see modular dormitories.
Module specification
Two standard module footprints are produced. Internal clear dimensions are given for layout planning, including bed spacing and corridor widths.

Transport format and reuse over the project life
The unit-level decision is how the dormitory travels and how many times it will be re-erected. In flat pack format, the 6055 mm standard box is packed flat for transport and assembled on site, which minimises freight volume per bed. In detachable format, the bolted modules can be taken apart and reused, which suits camps that will be dismantled and rebuilt at a second location. Both formats are relocatable; the choice between them is made at engineering review against the transport route, site access and the expected number of moves. For non-residential applications on the same platform, see our container houses range.
Engineering and certification
CDPH was founded in 2009 and operates three production bases (Hebei, Xinjiang, Sichuan), with the Hebei base 48 km from Tianjin Port. The company holds CE certification for modular container houses, prefab houses and light steel villas, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, product carbon footprint certification, National High-Tech Enterprise status, NATA materials certification for Australia, Intertek fire-resistance certification, CCS factory approval, and Intertek ICC-ES / WH building-material compliance for the US market; 14 key welders are qualified to AWS, CWB and CE standards. Certificates available upon request.
Reference projects at region level include a port expansion camp in Cote d'Ivoire, a construction camp for a methanol plant, a camp for a cross-sea bridge project in Croatia, a natural gas project camp in Nigeria, a copper mine camp built for -55 °C conditions, and a living camp for a solar power station in Saudi Arabia whose fire performance was verified by Intertek testing.
Quotation process
Every container dormitory project is quoted individually after engineering review; there is no standard MOQ. Send your layout requirements, storey count and site conditions through our contact page, and the engineering team will reply within one business day with a concept proposal and a budget range.
