FIG. 01 — MODULE DIAGRAM, CABIN BASIS

A portable cabin from CDPH is a factory-prefabricated steel module that is bolted together on site, relocated when a project moves on, and reused across sites. Each portable cabin is built on a galvanised cold-formed steel frame (t = 3.0 mm, SGH340) and finished with 75 mm colour-steel sandwich panels and seamless S-type rock wool composite panels. Because the module is a complete unit — structure, envelope, services and finishes — it can serve as a guard post, site office, clinic or checkpoint, with site works centred on the foundation and connections. The same portable cabin system underpins every format we supply, in flat pack and detachable variants.

Standard module sizes and internal clearances

Two module footprints are produced on the same frame system. External and internal dimensions are fixed at the factory, so layouts can be planned before the unit leaves the production line.

Structural design loads

Portable cabins are engineered to declared design loads rather than assumed ones. The values below apply to the standard module system and are stated at the design stage so that structural, procurement and safety teams can verify suitability for a given site.

  • Roof live load: 1.0 / 0.5 kN/m²
  • Floor live load: 2.0 kN/m²
  • Wind load: 0.6 / 0.5 kN/m²

Where a project calls for different loads, the requirement is reviewed by our engineering team before quotation. The same portable cabin frame can be combined into single, double or triple storeys and arranged in I, U, L or courtyard layouts, so a checkpoint or clinic compound can be planned as a coherent group of modules rather than a scatter of separate units.

Services and fit-out

Electrical circuits are pre-fitted in the roof, water supply runs along the walls, and drainage is wall-side. Fit-out is completed in the factory, and the cabin is relocatable and reusable between sites. For larger accommodation and facility requirements, the same module system is used across our modular houses range.

Format variants for transport and reuse

Two build formats are available on the standard module:

  • Flat pack — the 6055 mm standard box packed flat for transport and assembled on site.
  • Detachable — bolted, demountable modules that can be taken apart and reused.

For remote sites, the choice between the two formats is usually driven by transport volume, available lifting equipment and the intended number of relocations over the project life.

Applications and project experience

Typical uses for portable cabins include guard posts, site offices, clinics and checkpoints, alongside engineering camps, commercial buildings, emergency facilities, education facilities and military sites. CDPH reports 5,000+ projects implemented in 100+ countries. Region-level references include a port expansion camp in Cote d'Ivoire, a construction camp for a methanol plant, a camp for a cross-sea bridge project in Croatia, a natural gas project camp in Nigeria, a copper mine camp built for −55 °C conditions, and a living camp for a solar power station in Saudi Arabia whose fire performance was verified by Intertek testing. Certifications are held at category level, including CE for modular container houses, prefab houses and light steel villas, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, product carbon footprint certification, National High-Tech Enterprise status, NATA materials certification for Australia, Intertek fire-resistance certification, CCS factory approval and Intertek ICC-ES / WH building-material compliance for the US market. Certificates available upon request.

Quotation and engineering review

CDPH is a project-based manufacturer; there is no standard MOQ. Every project is quoted individually after engineering review. Our engineering team replies within one business day with a concept proposal and a budget range. Production runs across three bases in Hebei, Xinjiang and Sichuan; the Hebei base is 48 km from Tianjin Port. Overseas projects are delivered through CDPH (HAINAN) COMPANY LIMITED, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Beijing corporation. To discuss a requirement, contact our team with your site conditions, intended use and quantity.
